Modern problems of Judaism
January, 2010
Many current problems of Judaism are not reflected in a Russian-speaking Jewish literature. This book-project should become one of the first steps to resolve this issue. In 2008-2009 Rabbi Sharki (an renown Israeli rabbi, student of Rav. Cook and Rav. Ashkenazi-Manitou, and a head of the "Mahon Meir") held a lecture course on "modern problems of Judaism" (30 lectures) in "Mechanaim" in Jerusalem. Lectures were given in parallel with audio and video transmission via the Internet and lesson-repetition in Russian. The course generated an immense interest and many inquiries. Now, with assistance from MCF a first edition of this course in Russian is being prepared in a publication. The first volume should contain about ten lectures.
